Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Rules for using VoxelUtopia services, and how we handle and protect user information.

Part 1: Terms of Use

1. Scope

These terms apply to the official website (the “Website”), the Minecraft server, the player hub, public creative spaces, personal worlds, creation tools, competitions, the application and feedback features, and other features directly related to the services above, as provided by VoxelUtopia (“we”).

By using VoxelUtopia services, you agree to follow these terms and the rules clearly shown on the corresponding page, server, or tool.

2. Services and accounts

VoxelUtopia is a community and creation platform for Minecraft voxel creators.

A website account and a Minecraft game identity are independent of each other. A website account uses a VU UID as its internal user identifier, and it can be linked to a Minecraft identity with a one-time bind code.

Player accounts and administration-backend accounts use separate authentication and permission systems. Holding a player account, an in-game identity, or project membership does not mean you have backend administration permissions.

Keep your account password, one-time bind codes, and other credentials safe. You must not steal, impersonate, sell, rent, or maliciously share someone else’s account, and you must not bypass permissions, bans, or security limits already in effect by registering repeatedly or falsifying an identity.

3. Basic rules of use

When you use VoxelUtopia services, follow the applicable laws and regulations, respect other users and their creations, and use server resources reasonably.

You must not do any of the following:

  1. Without authorization, damage, modify, copy, export, or distribute someone else’s maps, builds, files, or other works;
  2. Use exploits, cheat clients, scripts, or tools to bypass permissions on a plot, world, project, file, or account;
  3. Attack, scan, or interfere with servers, the website, databases, networks, or administration interfaces;
  4. Maliciously create abnormal entities, redstone, chunks, files, requests, or other load that affects service stability;
  5. Upload malicious files, dangerous code, or content meant to evade security checks;
  6. Impersonate someone else, steal credentials, or help others bypass restrictions;
  7. Harass or threaten others, spam, or publish content that is illegal, infringing, or clearly harmful to someone else’s safety.

4. Personal worlds and server resources

Personal worlds and other environments that consume a lot of resources occupy server resources over the long term, so you may need to submit an application or hold the corresponding permission before you can use them.

We may set reasonable limits on the number of worlds, world borders, file size, how often operations can run, block counts, and other resources, according to server capacity, resource use, security risk, and actual need.

We may unload or archive worlds that stay idle for a long time. The current rules are those in the Wiki, the player hub, and announcements.

5. User works and content

You keep the rights you lawfully hold in builds, maps, worlds, images, renders, text, and other original content.

Uploading, saving, or syncing content to VoxelUtopia does not mean those rights are automatically transferred to us.

To provide the service, you agree that we may, to the extent necessary, store, back up, transmit, verify, technically process, convert the format of, and restore the relevant content, and display it according to the visibility you actively choose, or the visibility the relevant feature clearly states.

Private content, or content limited to specific members, does not become public merely because it is stored in VoxelUtopia services.

You should make sure you have the right to upload or share the relevant content.

6. Files and access permissions

Maps, schematics, personal worlds, and other files can have different access scopes.

You may access, edit, download, or share only content for which you have the corresponding permission. You must not bypass access control with tools, interfaces, exploits, or other means.

The specific permissions are the settings currently shown by the relevant tool, world, or project.

7. Service maintenance and data security

We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect servers, accounts, worlds, files, works, and application data, and, as needed, use permission isolation, backups, snapshots, log audits, security checks, rate limits, queues, and failure recovery.

Maintenance, upgrades, hardware failure, software defects, network problems, security incidents, or other factors outside our control may make some services temporarily unavailable.

We maintain the service and data security within a reasonable scope, but no online service can guarantee that it will never be interrupted, or that data will never be lost.

8. Handling violations and appeals

If conduct violates these terms, or clearly endangers service security, we may, depending on the circumstances, issue a warning, undo an action, restrict tool use, withdraw permissions, suspend service, ban an account, or end access.

Where there is an attack, a malicious bypass of permissions, damage to data, or an ongoing security risk, we may apply the necessary restrictions directly.

If you believe the outcome is wrong, you can submit an appeal through “Apply / feedback” on the Website.

The Website may provide links to QQ, X / Twitter, Bilibili, or other third-party services.

When you choose to visit a third-party platform, that platform handles your information under its own rules. We do not control third-party accounts, cookies, or how they process data.

10. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms when service features, security requirements, or applicable rules change.

If a change affects user rights, data processing, or important rules of use, we will note it on the Website or in another reasonable place.

Part 2: Privacy Policy

1. Information we process

To provide VoxelUtopia services, we may process the following information:

  • Website account information and the VU UID;
  • Minecraft game IDs, UUIDs, and account-binding relationships;
  • Community access, personal worlds, application status, and related processing records;
  • Feedback, reports, appeals, and attachments that players submit on their own;
  • Files and the necessary metadata produced when maps, schematics, personal worlds, and other file features are used;
  • IP addresses, access times, operation records, error information, and basic client information required for login verification, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and security audits;
  • Cookies, local storage, session tokens, or similar data used to keep a login active and to store basic preferences.

2. How the information is used

We use the information above to:

  • Create and maintain website accounts and VU UIDs;
  • Complete Minecraft identity binding;
  • Provide the public server, personal worlds, creation tools, and file services;
  • Decide permissions for accounts, worlds, files, and tools;
  • Process applications, feedback, reports, and appeals;
  • Provide the notification center;
  • Prevent malicious damage, unauthorized access, attacks, and resource abuse;
  • Diagnose faults, and to back up, restore, and audit security;
  • Maintain and improve VoxelUtopia services;
  • Meet obligations under applicable laws and regulations.

3. Disclosure and sharing

We do not sell users’ personal information.

Except where it is needed to provide the service, to handle a security issue, where the user has authorized it, or where applicable law requires it, we do not provide personal information that can directly identify a user to unrelated third parties.

Ordinary players, and administrators who are not involved, do not automatically receive other users’ application materials, backend records, or other non-public information merely because they have in-game permissions.

When you choose to make a work, world, or file public, the corresponding content, and the public username needed to identify the author, may be shown to other users.

4. Retention and security

We keep the relevant information only for as long as it is needed to provide the service, audit security, handle disputes, back up and restore, or meet applicable law.

After an account, world, or file is deleted, related data may remain in backups for a reasonable time, and it is cleared gradually as backups rotate.

We protect data with access control, separation of authentication, permission isolation, backups, snapshots, log audits, and necessary security checks.

Only people who need access for operations, security, review, failure recovery, or user support may access the corresponding backend data, and only within the scope of their duties.

5. Your rights

Where applicable rules and what the system can do allow it, you may, through the player hub or “Apply / feedback” on the Website:

  • View or correct your own account information;
  • View the binding status between your VU UID and your Minecraft identity;
  • Ask to migrate or remove a Minecraft identity binding;
  • View your own applications and processing records;
  • View your own personal-world information;
  • Delete files you are allowed to manage;
  • Ask to close your website account;
  • Appeal an incorrect permission, ban, review result, or data-processing decision.

Some security-audit data, backup data, or data that must be kept by law may not be deleted immediately.

The Website may provide links to third-party pages such as QQ, X / Twitter, and Bilibili.

After you choose to visit those sites, the third-party platform handles the relevant information under its own policy.

7. Policy updates and contact

When service features, how data is processed, or applicable rules change in an important way, we may update this policy and mark the update on the Website.

For questions about an account, privacy, data deletion, infringement, or security, submit them through “Apply / feedback” on the Website.
