A one-time bind code links the two.

Premium login

Type /premium in the lobby and reconnect once as prompted. After confirming, a premium client no longer needs a password to join. Other players keep using their password.

Register a website account

Enter a username and password on the register page.

  • Usernames are 3–32 characters: letters, digits, _ and -. A temporary name is fine, but don't take someone else's game ID.
  • Passwords are 8–128 characters.
  • One IP can register at most 5 times an hour.

You then get a VU UID, your stable identity on the website. It doesn't change when you rename or bind. You can see it in Account settings.

Bind Minecraft

  1. Join the public server, log in and type /vubind to get a bind code.
  2. Enter the code in Account settings and confirm. You can also enter it while registering to do both at once.

A code lasts 10 minutes, works once, and you can request 5 an hour. Never share it.

After binding:

  • Your website login and public name become your game ID. From now on, log in with your game ID. The password stays the same.
  • One Minecraft character can bind to only one website account.
  • You can now send applications and feedback.

If it says your game ID is already taken, see troubleshooting.

Change your password

  • You remember the old one: change it in Account settings.
  • You forgot it and are already bound: type /vupass newpassword in game to reset your website password directly.

This changes the website password, which is also 8–128 characters.

Access not applied: verify and reissue

If community access or more worlds were approved but nothing changed in game, it's usually because you haven't joined the public server yet.

  1. Join the public server once.
  2. In Account settings, click “Verify and reissue permissions”.

You can do this at most once every 10 minutes and 3 times in 24 hours. If it still doesn't work, ask staff to reissue it by hand.

Keep your account safe

  • Never share bind codes or your website password.
  • Downloading maps, uploading and restoring all ask for your website password again.
  • If you get a “password reset in game” notice and it wasn't you, contact staff right away.
